The Houston Texans are en route to the 2023 NFL Playoffs.
In a late-game scoring drive led by C.J. Stroud and a defensive stand that halted the Colts’ final push, the Texans secured a triumph in Indianapolis, propelling Head Coach DeMeco Ryans’ squad into the postseason.
Opting to defer after winning the coin toss, the Texans initiated the game with a kickoff, ensuring a touchback as Ka’imi Fairbairn’s delivery landed in the end zone. The Colts’ offensive journey commenced at their own 25-yard line, witnessing a four-yard gain by running back Jonathan Taylor on the initial handoff. A hands-to-the-face penalty on the subsequent play granted Indianapolis an advantage. On 1st-and-10 at the 34-yard line, Gardner Minshew completed a 5-yard pass to Michael Pittman, Jr. This dynamic duo connected again for a 7-yard gain on the following play, followed by a 9-yard pickup.
Taylor contributed with three more yards on the ground, securing another first down for the Colts. At the Texans’ 42-yard line, Minshew executed a nine-yard scramble on 1st-and-10, with Taylor adding a robust 13-yard rush on the subsequent play. From the Texans’ 20-yard line, Taylor advanced for four yards. On 2nd-and-6, he gained an additional two yards, leading to the first third-down scenario of the night for the Colts. Minshew’s attempt towards the front right corner of the end zone on third down resulted in an incomplete pass.
