Silently and devoid of grandeur, Microsoft discreetly introduced a fresh Copilot application on the Android platform, presenting users with a novel avenue to engage with the AI-driven assistant and its array of functionalities. Unearthed by @technosarusrex on X (previously known as Twitter), the application now stands ready for download from the Google Play Store, its debut in the market unfolding approximately a week ago.

The recently unveiled Copilot app for Android doesn’t emerge as an entirely novel entity. On initial inspection, it bears a resemblance to the Bing Chat app, retaining accessibility to the same chat-centric features. Furthermore, Copilot seamlessly integrates into the Microsoft Edge browser for Android, SwiftKey, Skype, and various other platforms.

Copilot for Android boasts a repertoire of features, with the added flexibility to switch between light and dark themes. These features, akin to their desktop counterparts, empower users to pose intricate queries, generate images through the prowess of DALL-E 3, compose documents or emails, or engage in casual conversational banter. Additionally, the app grants users the autonomy to activate or deactivate the recently integrated GPT-4.

Microsoft delineates the essence of the new application as follows:

“Elevate Your Productivity with Copilot–Your AI-Powered Chat Assistant
Copilot stands as a groundbreaking chat assistant from Microsoft, propelled by the cutting-edge OpenAI models, GPT-4, and DALL·E 3. These advanced AI technologies deliver swift, intricate, and accurate responses, coupled with the capability to transform rudimentary text descriptions into visually stunning creations.
Chat and create seamlessly, all within one space—for free!”

As of now, the Microsoft Copilot app finds residence exclusively on the Android domain. Nonetheless, iOS users need not feel neglected, as equivalent capabilities persist within the Bing app, available for download from the App Store through this link. If your allegiance lies with an Android smartphone and the allure of the new Copilot app beckons, seize the opportunity to acquire it from the Google Play Store without incurring any costs.
